Search Randall County Jail Inmates

Randall County Jail is the local adult detention facility for Randall County, Texas, and the first place most county custody searches should start. People use the Randall County Jail inmate lookup to check current custody, booking status, charges, court ties, and basic release information. The jail serves a mixed local detention role, so a search may involve recent arrests, county sentences, holds, and other custody categories. When a person has moved beyond county jail custody, state or federal lookup systems may be the better path.

Randall County Jail Overview

Randall County Sheriff's Office operates Randall County Jail as the county jail and local adult detention center. The jail is not a state prison. It is the facility used for people booked into Randall County custody after arrest, for county-sentenced jail terms, and for several kinds of holds that can keep a person in custody even when one charge has a bond amount. The sheriff's official contact data places the jail and sheriff campus at 9100 S. Georgia St. in Amarillo.

The held population is broader than a simple recent-arrest list. Texas Commission on Jail Standards data for Randall County includes adult pretrial detainees, county sentenced inmates, parole and state-jail holds, TDCJ-ready inmates, and federal detainees. That mix matters when looking up a person. A name may appear on the county roster while the person is still held locally, then move to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after a state sentence, or to a federal or immigration lookup channel if custody changes.

Custody channel note: Use the Randall County Jail roster for local jail custody, not for sentenced state-prison placement after transfer.

Randall County Jail Population

The latest Randall row in the Texas Commission on Jail Standards population reports, inspected June 30, 2026, lists the Randall County Jail capacity at 550 and the total jail population at 360 for the June 1, 2026 reporting row. That places the jail at 65.45 percent of rated capacity for that row. Older rows in the same workbook showed 454 beds, so any comparison should be dated rather than treated as a fixed historical capacity.

TCJS reports are useful for facility scale, but the state also says county facilities submit the data and are responsible for accuracy and quality. The figures help explain the size of Randall County Jail and its custody mix. They do not replace a current custody check with the jail, roster, app, or records office when a release, transfer, or visit is time sensitive.

Randall County Jail Lookup

The official web path for a Randall County Jail custody search is the sheriff's Jail Roster. The roster page includes a public search box, filter control, pagination, roster cards, profile links, and booking photos. A separate official OCV notice states that the website inmate search is currently down and tells users to check the app or return later. Treat the roster URL as the official web channel, but keep the app and phone fallback ready.

The Randall County Sheriff's Office, TX app is the sheriff's stated fallback when the web inmate search is down. The official app links include the Apple App Store listing, the Google Play listing, and the OCV share page.

For a broader search process, the Randall County jail inmate records path is different from state or federal custody. County jail records cover local booking and detention. TDCJ covers sentenced Texas prison custody after transfer. BOP covers federal prison custody, and ICE ODLS covers immigration detention. VINELink can help with custody and release notifications, but it is not a full substitute for the sheriff's roster.

The official roster page shows the main jail roster interface with search, roster cards, and profile links.

The image reflects the web roster channel, while the sheriff's OCV notice makes the app and phone fallback important when the web search is unavailable.

  1. Open the Randall County Sheriff's Office jail roster if the web page is working, or use the Randall County Sheriff's Office, TX app when the official notice points users there.
  2. Search by full last name first. If that fails, try a shorter name fragment because the public page does not publish a wildcard rule.
  3. Open the inmate profile link and compare booking date, age, arresting agency, cause number, charges, and bond fields before assuming the match is correct.
  4. Call Randall County Jail at 806-468-5752 if the person may have just been booked, released, transferred, or held under a name spelling that is not obvious.
  5. Use the Public Information Act channels when the record needed is not visible on the roster or is older than the current custody display.

Randall County Jail Contact

Randall County Jail public contact should be routed by purpose. Custody and general jail questions go through the jail number. Sheriff-wide business can start with the main sheriff number. Visitation questions use the visitation line, and open-records requests use the county public-information channels rather than a casual phone message. Jail Division Captain Matt Stockstill is listed in official jail-division contacts, but routine inmate lookup, visitation, mail, and deposit questions should begin with the public channels below.

Randall County Jail Visits

Randall County Jail visits are appointment-only. Visitors must register through GTL VisitMe or use the lobby kiosk, and appointments must be made 24 hours in advance. The sheriff's visitation rules require check-in 10 minutes before the scheduled start. A late visitor or late inmate loses the missed time from the 20-minute visit, so travel time, parking, ID checks, and entry rules should be planned before arrival.

The official visitation rules include the appointment requirement, hours, valid photo ID rule, visitor limits, monitoring, and dress restrictions.

Randall County Jail Mail

Randall County Jail uses different routes for ordinary inmate mail and legal or medical mail. Beginning January 2, 2025, ordinary mail, other than legal and medical mail, must go to a Longview processing address for scanning and electronic delivery. Items sent there are not returned or released after processing. Once scanned and received by the inmate, they are destroyed. Legal and medical mail must go to the facility where the person is housed under jail mail rules.

The official inmate mail page details the Longview processing address, page limits, photo limit, legal-mail exception, and NCIC message pricing.

Randall County Jail Records

When the current roster does not answer the question, Randall County provides formal Public Information Act channels. The county-linked Texas Public Information Act request form asks for requester contact details, a clear description of the information sought, optional date range, redaction questions, and delivery preferences. Requests can also be sent to publicinfo@randallcounty.gov or mailed to 2309 Russell Long Blvd., Suite 120, Canyon, TX 79015.

A good Randall County Jail records request should name the person, booking date if known, Inmate ID or SO number if known, arresting agency, cause number, and the exact record type sought. The roster profile can show booking date, demographics, arresting agency, cause number, charges, issuing authority, offense disposition, crime classification, bond type, bond amount, and booking photo. Booking photos have special Texas rules, so a photo request may be reviewed differently from a basic custody or charge record.

Booking
The jail intake event after arrest, including identity entry, property handling, medical screening, and charge entry.
Detainer or hold
A legal reason from another agency or case that can keep a person in custody even if one charge has bond.
TDCJ-ready
A person held at the county jail while awaiting transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after state sentencing.

Randall County Jail Intake

Booking at Randall County Jail is supported by the public roster fields and the sheriff's medical page. A person booked locally may move through arrest transport, intake, identity entry, property handling, booking photo, medical screening, charge entry, bond or hold entry, classification, and housing. The public roster does not show every internal step, but the visible fields confirm the main public record points: booking date, Inmate ID, arresting agency, cause number, charges, issuing authority, classification, and bond data.

The jail medical page supports several health functions inside the facility, including medical intakes, TB screening for newly incarcerated people, monitoring health and welfare needs, chronic-care treatment, medication dispensing, provider coordination, medical record maintenance, and emergency response. Those facts should not be read as a promise of a specific treatment plan for any one inmate. They do show that Randall County Jail has a distinct medical division and intake health process, not just a booking counter.

After court action, a person may stay at Randall County Jail, bond out, serve county jail time, remain on a parole or state-jail hold, await TDCJ transfer, or be moved into a federal or immigration channel. The Randall County inmate population changes as those cases move through court and custody systems.

Note: Confirm custody, visit status, and mail rules with the jail before traveling or sending time-sensitive items.
